Karel Van Vlaenderen is a Belgian entrepreneur with over twenty years of experience in the construction industry, plumbing, heating systems and property development. As co-founder of VAK, he has spent the past eight years leading the company’s operations and specialising in professional underfloor heating installations for B2B clients, contractors and large construction sites.
He is known as a driven and motivated leader with strong technical expertise. Karel believes in growth through craftsmanship: he guides new team members, shares his knowledge and takes on a natural mentor role. His mission is to help people develop their skills and grow within a professional, ambitious team.

Tacker system
Tacker system
In a tracker system, the heating pipes are fixed to insulation boards using tack nails. This system is ideal for new-build projects where the screed has yet to be poured.
Net system
Net system
In a net system, the heating pipes are woven into a galvanized mesh using binding wire. This method is used when there is little or no underlying insulation to attach to. Like the tracker system, the screed still needs to be poured.

concrete core activation
Concrete Core Activation is suitable for large floor areas with stable occupancy, such as hospitals, schools, shops, and warehouses. The system integrates into the building’s concrete structure, with pipes attached to the reinforcement mesh before the concrete is poured, using the building’s thermal mass to stabilize temperatures efficiently.
